dc.description.abstract	Esta investigación se llevó a cabo con 22 estudiantes de Inglés como lengua extranjera de grado noveno en el IED La Belleza - Los Libertadores. A los estudiantes se les ha dicho que por medio del aprendizaje del idioma extranjero tendrán un mejor futuro. Sin embargo, las situaciones económicas que viven le quitan validez a dicho argumento conllevando a que consideren que el Inglés no es realmente necesario para sus condiciones de vida. Adicionalmente, el rechazo de los estudiantes por participar y la falta de oportunidades para practicar el idioma hacen aún más difícil el proceso de aprendizaje en los estudiantes. Es por ello que el propósito principal de la investigación era el de identificar y describir la interacción social que los estudiantes construyeron cuando realizaban tareas auténticas cuyo enfoque era el de poner en práctica el idioma Inglés. Los datos se obtuvieron de las producciones hechas por los estudiantes, el análisis de las notas de campo, y las entrevistas cualitativas. Durante 28 lecciones los estudiantes construyeron la interacción social mediante el uso de conocimiento previo de la lengua meta, la generación de estrategias para compensar dificultades en la comunicación y colaborar en las prácticas comunicativas, y el uso de reacciones espontáneas y comportamientos para mantener procesos de interacción	spa
dc.description.abstractenglish	This research was carried out with 22 EFL ninth graders at IED La Belleza – Los Libertadores. Ninth graders have been told that by means of learning English they will have a better future. However, the economic situations that students have, take out validity to that argument, and make students understand that English is not really necessary for their conditions of life. Additionally, students` reluctance to participate and the lack of opportunities to practice the language make even more difficult the learning process in the students. That is why, the main purpose of the research was to identify and describe the social interaction that students constructed when working on authentic tasks whose focus was to put in practice the English language. Data were collected from the artifacts produced by the students, the analysis of field notes, and qualitative interviews. And, during 28 lessons students were constructing social interaction by using previous knowledge of the target language, generating strategies to compensate breakdowns in communication and support communicative practices, and by using spontaneous reactions and behaviors to follow up interaction processes.	spa
